OUR STORY

Ślimak was founded by Iga Puchalska, a Polish artist and art educator, and Jason Judd, an American maker and educator. Both are award-winning artists and passionate art & design teachers with a shared obsession: turning forgotten fabrics into bold, wearable art.

Their creative journey began with a mutual love for textiles, upcycling, and storytelling through clothing. Whether it’s a warning sign on a farm fence or a kitschy tiger blanket in a mountain town, Iga and Jason find inspiration in the overlooked—especially during their frequent trips back to Iga’s homeland, Poland.

Handmade in their Rockford, Illinois studio, every Ślimak piece is a celebration of contrast. It's where Polish folk tradition collides with American street style. Where slow fashion meets sharp wit. Where heritage becomes punk. Their work is intentionally tactile, joyfully unconventional, and deeply rooted in the idea that clothes can—and should—tell a story.

Ślimak isn’t just a brand. It’s a cross-cultural collaboration, a protest against fast fashion, and a love letter to the weird, the worn, and the wildly personal
